Shades of 2002/03 season
Yeah, I know that it's still very early days but I'm just getting a bit of déjà vu at the moment with the 02/03 season... I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

We finished 7th in 01/02 and the tight-arse board failed to improve significantly enough on the squad the following summer.

We had an abundance of quality attacking players in 02/03 but, for all of their efforts and the goals that they scored, they were let-down by an arsewiping cunt defence - Dailly, Repka and Gary fucking Breen all being absolutely fucking hopeless... Sound familiar, so far?!

If you take away the awful cunt defending Vs Watford and WBA; we would've won both games with the goals we scored (and we could've bagged a couple of more ourselves).

Fortunately, it's still very early days...

But what should we do to turn things around quickly?!

Who in defence should be dropped?!

Should anyone else be dropped?!

What formation should we be playing?!

Oh, pagan gods! Save us from thy ye olde relegation zone!

Reminds me more of the 2006/7 season. Just not sure who is going to do a Tevez and save us!

Fair do's to Bilic. He's as honest as they come and he just said what he clearly thinks and he obviously wanted to go public with it.

Sadly, as a manager, I still have massive doubts over him.

It's truly amazing that Billic has said the players aren't trying in training. That is his death note.

Can you imagine if a CEO told the City his staff were lazy after a poor full-year results? Even Roeder had the good sense to keep a brave weasel-like face.

We never struggled at THE FORTRESS BOLEYN GROUND though... Apparently.

Yes Dicksie - you forget to mention Roeder's bust up with Di Canio, who only got arsed because the manager was a drip and the team were no trying.

Billic and his rows? All too familiar.

I remember games from 30 years ago beter than this season.. It's only when you see the same players now that you realise how long ago it was.

I was at a home game v Bolton when Ian Pearce was up front and he scored so that must've been his other goal.

Re: Shades of 2002/03 season
Pearce scored in a 2-2 draw at Boro. Joey Cole got the other, Ehiogu got a last minute equaliser for them.

Think his overall record up front for us was two goals in six starts. Which isn't all that shabby when playing for a struggling side.

Re: Shades of 2002/03 season
To be honest surely we didn't sell Tomkins to make Collins 3rd choice (or 2nd now...). It has to be Reid & Ogbonna with one or both of the Reece's in from of Collins.

Don't get me wrong Collins, had an amazing final season last year and got a run out for Wales in the semis of the Euros. However, I don't care how far they got, Wales are shit. He couldn't get in their team and he shouldn't be first choice in ours. If Reece Burke/Oxford were Welsh they would be ahead of him in the starting line up....

I still can't believe we finished the previous season.
Floating around 10/11 th all season.

Got some some heavy spankings away.
But very solid at home.

I was at geordies away first game of following season.got a tonking and we were dogshit.
Set the tone for the rest of the season.

One player that always comes into my bonce over both seasons is Tomas Repka
